Give Your Team the Skills to Thrive

Mental Toughness is a measurable psychological trait that influences how we respond to stress, challenges, setbacks and opportunities.

Through the MTQ framework, participants gain greater awareness of their strengths and development areas across four key dimensions:

Control
How effectively we manage emotions and influence our environment.

Commitment
Our ability to stay focused, follow through, and deliver on goals.

Challenge
How we view change, uncertainty and setbacks.

Confidence
Our belief in our abilities and our willingness to engage with others.

By understanding these factors, individuals can build greater resilience, adaptability and sustainable performance.

What is Mental Toughness?

Mental Toughness is a personality trait that determines how effectively you perform under stress and pressure. Closely linked to character, resilience, grit, and perseverance. It is the foundation for thriving—not just surviving—in challenging environments.

Developed through the pioneering work of Professor Peter Clough, Doug Strycharczyk, and Dr. John Perry in early 2000, Mental Toughness is recognized as one of the most significant predictors of performance, wellbeing, resilience, and positive behaviour across education, sport, business, and everyday life.
