The World's Leading Measure of Mental Toughness

The MTQPlus is a psychometric assessment developed by Doug Strycharczyk with Professors John Perry and Peter Clough.
Used in 80+ countries, the 4Cs concept and the MTQ measure are supported by over 1,000 independent, peer-reviewed academic papers.

In order for an individual or organization to apply mental toughness framework or use any of the MTQ assessment tools, attending licensed user training is required.

This workshop accredits participants as licensed practitioners and equips them with the skills to conduct mental toughness trainings and administer MTQ assessments effectively. The program enables attendees to:

  • Understand the assessment models, scales, and application contexts
  • Confidently use the assessment with individuals and organizations and provide feedback
  • Recognize the wide range of applications across leadership, education, and social impact
  • Apply Mental Toughness strategies immediately in professional settings

This highly interactive program includes comprehensive workbooks, online support, and personal assessments for all participants.

This session introduces the science and practical application of Mental Toughness in leadership, education, and personal growth. We will explore how resilience impacts decision-making, emotional intelligence, and long-term performance. What is Mental Toughness?

Mental Toughness is a personality trait that determines how effectively you perform under stress and pressure. Closely linked to character, resilience, grit, and perseverance. It is the foundation for thriving—not just surviving—in challenging environments.

It is the capacity for an individual to deal effectively with stressors, pressures and challenge and perform to the best of their abilities, irrespective of the circumstances in which they find themselves.

Studies in the occupational, educational, health and sports worlds consistently show that mental toughness is directly related to:
- Performance
- Positive Behavior
- Wellbeing
- Aspirations
- Employability

In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing world, mental toughness is more critical than ever. As individuals and organizations face growing demands and uncertainty, the ability to stay focused, adaptable, and resilient under pressure has become a key differentiator. It not only drives performance but also supports sustained wellbeing and long-term success.
